There was a small pond by the park that was silky smooth as I drove by in the morning.
A nice reflection in that pond.

Andy, a BMW rider from LA decided to take a late night stroll down to Devils Lake and see what it looked like. There wasn't much to see in the dark, even with a large moon, but the camera took this interesting shot.
As breakfast was consumed, the sun rose over the hills and slowly illuminated the camp from the tops of the trees working down. It was too windy for a good time lapse though.
There was this veterans memorial somewhere out there near Devils Lake with decommissioned vehicles. Pretty cool.
They really take ethanol free seriously in Wisconsin. More states need to do that.
The Mississippi River was calm in the morning, with tendrils of morning mist rising from the water.
A glass smooth Mississippi morning
A nice milestone. Too bad it was in Iowa on a crappy gravel road that lead to no place.
Notice something wrong with the brake pad? These pads had less than 1000 easy going road miles on them. That's the last time I buy "copper backed" pads for this bike.
In this shitty motel, I only saw one live cockroach, but there was remnants of the cockroaches that previous occupants had seen splattered prominently on the bathroom wall. From here, you can gather how often the room was cleaned.
My motel in Des Moines, the A-1 motel was conveniently placed and cheap at $31, but was a disgusting shit hole with a not so friendly manager.
In Iowa, the roads are mostly flat and straight unless you're following a river.
These signs lead to much less graveled roads, which were faster and safer to travel on. In places the gravel was inches deep and the bike would not track correctly.
A storm blowing in, away from me, but causing a pretty sight.
Vote... wait. What? I wonder if they have binders full of women too?
I was quite taken by the pond and lighting.
A pretty pond somewhere out there in Nebraska.
Redwings in flight over the pond.
Every once in awhile you'd get up to a higher vantage and see an interesting sight.
The two track path through grasslands led me to a cow pasture. I closed the gate behind me and explored. The rancher wasn't too pleased, but not pissed either.
Down a two track path, to a view of the grasslands and rolling hills in eastern Nebraska.
